Eastman Cuts Jobs

Eastman has announced plans to cut up to 300 jobs by May of this year to save money. This will save them an extra $100 million. Most of the job cuts will be a their Kingsport plant in the form of layoffs.

Fire in Downtown Greeneville

On Wednesday a fire broke out in downtown Greeneville. The fire completely destroyed the Chang Thai Restaurant. Firefighters closed Depot Street and a section of Summer Street during the fire that started in the back of the restaurant.

Bernie Madoff Pleads Guilty

Bernie Madoff plead guilty on Thursday to all 11 charges against him. Madoff was immediately led away in handcuffs. He could get up to 150 years when he is sentenced in June.

Radio Legend Dies at 90

A radio legend died this weekend. Paul Harvey had worked for ABC Radio for over 50 years giving his take on the news as well as his signature “The Rest of the Story” segments. He was 90.
