Sharapva Highest Paid Female Athlete
Maria Sharapova is said to be the highest-paid female athlete in the world. The 6-feet-2 tennis champion-she’s so tall she instinctively prepares to duck when she walks through a doorway-is estimated to make $20 million a year in sponsorship deals. Right now she’s at Wimbledon, hoping to win back the title she won there three years ago, at a mere 17.
Floods in Texas Kill Over 11
Rain swept across Texas Yesterday for the 16th day in a row. The flood waters killed more than 11 people and have rained more than in all of 2006.
City to Buy Site of Warehouse Fire
The mayor of Charleston, Joseph Riley said Wednesday that the city will buy the site were the warehouse fire occured Monday. The city will make it a memorial and park to honor the 9 firefighters that died. It was the worst single loss of American firefighters since 9/11.

Funfest 2007
Fun Fest begins in Kingsport on July 13. The Fun Fest store is open at the Ft. Henry Mall on the 2nd floor.
Charleston, SC Warehouse Fire
On Monday there was a furniture warehouse fire in Charleston, SC. 9 firefighters died when the building colapsed. This comes just 2 weeks before our trip to Charleston. We'll have a full report on the city on July 8.

Bob Barker Leaves Price is Right
Bob Barker leaves the Price is Right. His last episode airs tonight at 8pm on CBS.
New Non-Smoking Law
Starting in 2 weeks a new law in Tennessee will take effect. According to this law in most restraunts and buisiness it is illegal to smoke.

Summer Reading Programs
The Johnson City Public Library is holding it's annual summer reading program. It began last Friday and continues until July 26. They have special programs Thursdays at 10am and 3:30pm.
Bob Barker Leaves Price is Right
Bob Barker will be leaving The Price is Right after hosting for 35 years. He taped the last show Wednesday, but it will air next Friday at 11am on CBS.

Blue Plum Festival
The Blue Plum Festival began today in Johnson City. It ends at 11pm and is open tomorrow from 11am-11pm.
